Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: Perform the duties required to examine, diagnose, and treat patients referred for dental procedures requiring oral surgery, with consideration of the overall health of each patient.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Eligible to receive Missouri Medicaid Vendor Status.
Preference given to experience in an urban community health setting.
Education: Graduate of a School of Dentistry accredited by the ADA/Commission on Dental Accreditation. Completion of a residency program in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Experience: One (1) year or more experience preferred.

Transportation Requirement: Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile with insurance coverage as required by the State of Missouri.
License(s)/Certification(s) Required:
Must possess a current, valid and unrestricted dental license in good standing as a Dentist in the State of Missouri, Federal and State drug license eligible.
Specialty certification, BLS certified.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions
Consult with patients and dental team to develop treatment plans for complex oral and maxillofacial conditions.
Collaborate with other medical and dental professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Perform oral surgery, including tooth extractions, jaw recontouring for dentures, and oral soft tissue surgery.
Participate in record audit, quality insurance record reviews, and staff meetings.
Knowledge of the EDR/EMR including appropriate and timely documentation.
Write prescriptions for antibiotics or other medications.
Maintains productivity and quality standards established by federal guidelines.
Participates in in-service education programs - Relias.
Participates in developing / updating of dental and oral surgery protocols.
Provide emergency care for patients with facial injuries or oral diseases.
Supervises dental assistants and dental hygienists, including students when appropriate.
Attends continuing education programs to maintain licensure.
Maintains OSHA and universal precaution standards.
Complete reports as directed.
Performs other duties as assigned
