Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and sterile environment for both patients and staff. They will be open to receiving training on dental assistant techniques, as well as proper operatory room and instrument sterilization. This position requires a strong understanding of infection control protocols and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. A strong desire to learn dental terminology and a commitment to teamwork and professional growth is a must.
Duties
Ensure all dental instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and stored according to established protocols.
Monitor sterilization processes and maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles.
Assist in the preparation of treatment rooms , including set up of all instruments needed for the dentists and hygienists, and proper sterilization of all dental operatories and contaminated instruments.
Follow infection control procedures to minimize the risk of contamination.
Collaborate with dental staff to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sterilization area and treatment rooms.
Stay updated on best practices in sterilization techniques and infection control.
Good with computers and the ability to learn the Dentrix software system.
Ability to assist the dentist and dental hygienist chairside for simple procedures such as periodontal charting, placing dental sealants and placing composite restorations.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a dental setting is preferred, with familiarity in using software such as Dentrix.
Understanding of infection control standards and practices within a dental environment.
Experience with 3D scanners is a plus. Must be willing to learn new skills.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Certification or training in dental assisting is beneficial but not mandatory.
