Job Title: Dental Assistant
Location: Pearl Smiles Dentistry, Farmingdale, NY
Hours: 18 hours per week
Start Date: December 2024
OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional patient care and assisting dental professionals in delivering quality dental services.
Responsibilities- Assist dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating their needs- Prepare patients for dental examinations and treatments- Take and develop dental X-rays- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment information- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment- Perform laboratory tasks such as mixing materials for impressions and restorations- Manage inventory of dental supplies and equipment
Skills- Proficiency in dental terminology- Experience with Dentrix, CurveHero or similar dental software systems- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and aseptic techniques- Ability to perform vital sign measurements- Strong communication skills to interact with patients effectively- Previous experience as a dental receptionist is a plus
