Pediatric Dental Assistant - Woodhaven Dental Group - Woodhaven, NY

OverviewWe are looking for a dental assistant for a pediatric dentist; The candidate must be a charismatic person with children, like to work in a team and be proactive.
This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures (If you do not have it, we provide training in the office), excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
Responsibilities

Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
Maintain accurate medical records, including patient histories and treatment plans.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Manage infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Manage patient flow.
Assist in pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialized procedures as required.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or similar role is preferred.
Knowledge of infection control practices and procedures in a dental setting.
Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and vital signs monitoring.
Proficiency in managing medical records accurately and efficiently.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating initiative and responsibility.
Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is a plus but not mandatory.
