Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our team on Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting in January 2025. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform dental cleanings and assist the dentist in various procedures.
Responsibilities:- Perform dental cleanings, including removing plaque and tartar, polishing teeth, and applying fluoride treatments- Take dental x-rays- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral care instructions- Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and recording medical histories- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using OpenDental- Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff- Collaborate with other dental professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
Skills:- Proficient in performing vital signs measurements and patient assessments- Experience in assisting dentists during various procedures- Familiarity with Open Dental or similar dental software for maintaining patient records- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques for taking and developing dental x-rays- Understanding of aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment during procedures- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry- Excellent infection control practices to prevent the spread of diseases
