OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring optimal oral health for our patients. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for performing dental cleanings, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and assisting the dental team in delivering comprehensive care.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate oral health and hygiene needs.- Maintain accurate medical records and document patient care activities in compliance with regulations.- Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure a safe and sterile environment during procedures.- Perform medical imaging as required, including X-rays, to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.- Provide pediatric dental care, ensuring a comfortable experience for younger patients.- Utilize Epic software for patient management and documentation review.- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies.- Monitor vital signs as necessary during patient visits to ensure safety and comfort.- Collaborate with the dental team to enhance overall patient care and treatment outcomes.- Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
Skills- Proficient in patient assessment techniques and understanding of dental hygiene best practices.- Strong knowledge of medical records management and documentation review processes.- Familiarity with aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.- Experience with medical imaging technologies, particularly in a dental setting.- Ability to work effectively with pediatric patients, demonstrating patience and understanding.- Proficient in using Epic software for documentation and patient management tasks.- Excellent communication skills to educate patients on oral health practices effectively.- Competent in monitoring vital signs and recognizing any potential issues during patient visits.- Experience with Dentrix Ascend software is preferred but not required.
