Job Description
Perform oral prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance procedures, scaling, and root planing procedures for patients of Faculty Practice Dental Group, as permitted by Florida law. Instruct, evaluate, and supervise patients in oral hygiene education and preventive dental techniques. Perform all other related duties. Complete appropriate extra- and intra-oral exam, including probing and charting. Maintain current medical and dental history, blood pressure, radiographs, progress notes, and charge entry. Administer local anesthesia. Keep dental faculty informed of patient appointments and coordinate scheduling between doctors and patients. Support the patient recall system and scheduling, in cooperation with the front office staff to assure timely care and scheduling of patients. Perform other administrative duties as necessary, i.e., copying, filing patient charts, etc. Supervise sterilization of dental instruments or sterilize them (when necessary). Maintain clinic and operatory equipment in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. Order and stock hygiene supplies. Expose standardized and other special radiographs. Develop and mount them. Participate in in-service training and lectures. Maintain current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification and Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) licensure. Perform other duties (as necessary). Attend meetings (as required). Work in other College of Dentistry (CoD) departments (when needed).
Expected Salary:
$35.00 per hour

Minimum Requirements:
Licensed as a dental hygienist in accordance with Chapter 466, Florida Statutes and two years of clinical work experience as a licensed dental hygienist.
