Job Description

OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Flexible Dental Assistant/Hygiene Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional patient care and will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team. As an Assistant, you will assist in various procedures, maintain infection control protocols, and ensure a smooth operation within the practice. Experience with dental systems such as Dentrix and knowledge of general and pediatric dentistry are highly valued.
Responsibilities

Welcome Customers in the dental office.
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist or hygienist.
Maintain accurate patient records using dental software systems, Dentrix Ascend.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Manage appointment scheduling and patient follow-ups to ensure efficient workflow.
Adhere to infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Support pediatric dentistry practices by engaging with young patients in a friendly manner.

Requirements

Proven experience in dental assisting, with familiarity in general dentistry practices.
Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Dentrix; experience with Epic is a plus.
Knowledge of infection control standards and practices within a dental setting.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially children in pediatric settings.
Ability to perform medical coding related to dental procedures is preferred but not mandatory.
A commitment to continuous learning and professional development within the field of dentistry.
Certification in Dental Assisting or relevant qualifications is preferred.

Schedule:

8 hour shift Monday to Thursday

Supplemental Pay:

Bonus pay
