Job Title: Dental Assistant for Growing Periodontal PracticeLocation: Fetner & Hartigan Periodontics and Implants, Jacksonville, FLJob Type: Full-Time (Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM; Friday: 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM)

As our practice continues to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in Surgical Procedures: Support a wide range of periodontal surgeries, including dental implants, bone grafts, sinus lifts, and other advanced procedures.
Prepare for Surgeries: Ensure all instruments and equipment are sterilized and ready for use before procedures.
Patient Interaction: Present and explain treatment plans to patients, ensuring they are fully informed and comfortable with their care.
Post-Operative Care: Provide patients with clear and thorough post-operative instructions to ensure proper recovery.
Patient Monitoring: Observe and ensure patient comfort during procedures, offering reassurance and assistance when needed.
Maintain Sterility: Sterilize dental instruments and maintain a clean and safe working environment according to OSHA standards.
Documentation: Ensure accurate patient records are kept up-to-date in our digital system.
Administrative Support: Assist with patient scheduling, follow-up, and other administrative duties as necessary.
Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with other dental assistants, hygienists, and staff to ensure smooth office operations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Preferred Experience: Previous experience as a Dental Assistant, especially in a periodontal or surgical setting, is a plus but not required.
Knowledge: Familiarity with dental instruments, sterilization techniques, and infection control protocols.
Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of health and safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
Digital Charting: Experience with dental software and digital charting systems is an asset.
Non-Surgical Procedures: Ability to perform coronal polishing or other non-surgical dental tasks is a plus, but not required.
Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and team members.
Attention to Detail: High attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Team Player: Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
Professional Attitude: A positive, professional demeanor with a strong commitment to patient care and ethics.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with the following hours:

Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Friday: 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Our office operates during standard business hours, providing a stable and supportive work schedule.
