Job Description
Registered Dental Hygienist:
Clinical Procedures include:
Conduct thorough assessments of patients' oral health, including examining teeth and gums, identifying any signs of oral disease.
Perform teeth cleanings to remove plaque, tartar, and stains, helping to prevent tooth decay and gum disease.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary choices, to maintain optimal oral health.
Apply preventive treatment such as fluoride applications to protect teeth from cavities and other dental issues.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting procedures performed, and observations made during appointments.
Maintain accurate periodontal charting
Take and develop dental X-rays and perform other diagnostic tests to assist in the diagnosis of oral health issues.
Support the office by preparing and sterilizing instruments, setting up treatment rooms, and assisting with various tasks.
Adhere to strict infection control protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
Ensure patient comfort and provide compassionate care addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies through continuing education and professional development.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Associate/Bachelorâs Degree in Dental Hygiene
License to practice dental hygiene in the State of Wisconsin
Maintain continuing education requirement as mandated to maintain licensing
CPR certification (Mandated by RDH license)
Advocate for practice
Knowledge of practice management software
Ability to maintain effective communication with all team members
Professional, upbeat demeanor
Ability to communicate effectively with patients to ensure acceptance of treatment
Maintain OSHA and HIPAA standards
Complete any continuing education as needed
Maintain professional appearance
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $38.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 â 16 per week
