Job Description

We are searching for an extraordinary individual to fill a special position within a unique, well-established, health-centered, fee for service, non-insurance affiliated practice with a mission of educating its patients about the nature of their unique oral system to such a degree that they can make informed decisions about its future.

This practice is a dream come true for Dr. Iman Addeshahian, his team of helpers, referring specialists and his patients – a truly educational approach that personifies the true meaning of the word doctor, meaning “teacher.” Dental school teaches us a lot, but scant lessons relative to dealing with people or even the concept of a philosophy of care. Having been a practicing dentist for over 50 years, I  am on the mailing lists of dental practice “transition” services with lists of dentists seeking employment with qualifications, and have yet to find one pertaining to prevention, or relationship building – the primary ingredients of sustainable oral or systemic health. Although an important ingredient, they’re all about clinical skills - implants; surgical skills; endo techniques; “all on 4’s.” 

Other than accident, or oral discomfort requiring treatment intervention to alleviate discomfort and preserve pulpal integrity, the Dental Wellness Center provides no definitive dental treatment until the patient understands the nature of their oral status – the dentition; periodontal status; airway; occlusion -TMJ status. This offers them – for the first time in their life – to have an understanding of their responsibility component in becoming healthy periodontally-systemically dentally and functionally. Without education and coaching beforehand, the moment the practitioner reaches for the scaler is the moment the patient is learning who is responsible for their health.

Looking for a genuinely happy, hospitable person who thrives on responsibility, is a great communicator and loves dentistry. Must have some clinical and administrative experience, and motivated by not only maintaining a stellar position in the community, but driven to make it and the practice be the best and a beacon for health-centered dentistry..

 Job duties include:

• Four and six handed chairside assisting
• Restorative procedures
• Sterilization
• Cleaning and preparing rooms
• Setting up rooms for procedures
• Tray setups
• Stocking rooms
• Ordering supplies
• Handpiece care & maintenance
• OSHA log and maintenance (sterilizer, eye wash station, ultrasonic, etc.)
• Taking Digital X-rays
• Intra oral and extra oral photography
• Accurate impressions
• Pouring and trimming models
• Lab work-making retainers, whitening trays, mounting models
• Managing patient lab cases-sending and receiving from other labs
• Educating patients-knowledge of office articles and resources
• Charting
• Putting together simple treatment plans & reviewing them with patients
• Scheduling appointments
• Checking patients out and collecting payments when needed
• Answering phone when needed
