Location: South Bay Children’s Health Center Dental Clinic – Lawndale, CA

South Bay Children’s Health Center (SBCHC) Dental Clinic provides high-quality dental care to underserved children in our community. As a nonprofit organization, we are committed to creating a positive, supportive environment for both our patients and staff.
SBCHC has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Licensed Registered Dental Assistant $20 - $28 per hour depending on experience plus excellent benefits. The Dental Clinic hours are Monday – Thursday 10 hours per day.
Our community Dental Clinic is looking for someone who is high energy, a team player and likes working with children and young adults in a rewarding environment. We are willing to train you if you are motivated and have the necessary requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and Sterilization
- Seating and Dismissing patients
- Perform charting activities and document exam findings in patient record.
- Pre-op, Post-op and Oral Hygiene Instructions to parents and patients
- Utilizing and Maintaining Digital Health Record (no paper charts)
- Chairside Assisting with preventative, restorative, endodontic and pediatric procedures
- Assist front desk with phone calls, scheduling and paperwork when necessary
- Take digital X-rays
- Applying topical anesthetics
- Coronal polish and provide fluoride treatment
- Monitoring patients during nitrous oxide to ensure safety.
- Fabricate temporary crowns and removing excess cement from teeth.
- Restock patient rooms and communicate with Lead Assistant
- In charge of ordering supplies and inventory management
- Assist in equipment and hand piece maintenance of the back office
- Attend health fairs, dental screenings and off site dental events, as requested
- Maintaining a calm and professional environment
- Motivated to learn and have fun
- Able to take direction from supervisors
- Likes to work with children and young adults
Required Background:
- Must be licensed Registered Dental Assistant in the State of California.
- One year of experience as a Registered Dental Assistant.
- Must have current BLS CPR Certification
- Infection Control 8 Hours
- X-Ray Certificate
- Coronal polishing license and be Sealant Certified.
- Bilingual English-Spanish
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent computer skills and using technology
- Must be able to navigate Dentrix dental software
- Strong Ethics and a team player
