This role is essential in promoting oral health and preventing dental diseases through thorough assessments and cleanings.
Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including reviewing medical history and vital signs.
Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing of teeth to maintain optimal oral health.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Document patient treatment plans and progress accurately in medical records.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Assist in the management of dental office systems, including scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness before submitting claims for insurance purposes.
Stay updated on dental terminology, procedures, and best practices to provide the highest level of care.

Skills

Proficient in medical coding and understanding of insurance processes related to dental care.
Familiarity with dental office operations and patient management systems.
Strong knowledge of infection control practices within a clinical setting.
