Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our pediatric dental practice. In this role, you will play a vital part in helping children establish and maintain excellent oral health from a young age. You will be supported by a dedicated dental assistant, allowing you to focus on providing the highest quality care to our young patients.
We have both full-time and part-time positions available. Part-time hygienists must be available for a minimum of one day per week.
Responsibilities:
Patient Care: Provide gentle and thorough preventative dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth, to children of all ages. Apply fluoride treatments as needed.
Education: Educate children and their parents on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and diet.
Collaboration: Work closely with the dentist to assess patients' oral health, develop treatment plans, and provide preventative care.
Patient Management: Help children feel comfortable and at ease during their dental visits, using age-appropriate communication and techniques.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment notes and x-ray findings.
Infection Control: Adhere to strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with the dental assistant and other team members to provide seamless patient care.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program.
License: Current state dental hygiene license.
Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and a genuine love for working with children.
Other: CPR certification.
