Job Description
Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team who is pursuant of a Dental Hygiene License. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, proficiency in managing medical records, and the ability to assist with various dental procedures. This position will serve as a paid internship while candidate completes necessary RDH coursework.
Duties
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and materials.
Take and record vital signs of patients prior to treatment.
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure they are updated in the electronic health record system, such as Epic or Dentrix.
Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including acting as a dental receptionist.
Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of dental instruments and work areas.
Support pediatric patients by creating a welcoming environment tailored to their needs.
Assist in various dental specialties, including prosthodontics, as required.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is essential.
Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic or Dentrix is advantageous.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records.
Ability to take vital signs accurately and efficiently.
Experience working in a pediatric setting is a plus but not mandatory.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 â 30 per week
