The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (DOC) is on the hunt for dynamic and passionate individual to join our dental team as a Dental Assistant at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Forest. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Our dental professionals are passionate about delivering a positive experience for our patients. As a Dental Assistant, you will collaborate with skilled professionals to deliver vital dental care to those incarcerated at SCI Forest. Your responsibilities will include supporting the dentist during examinations and treatments, overseeing patient flow, maintaining dental records, offering chair-side assistance, and executing dental laboratory tasks. This position demands a high level of compassion and professionalism, as you are integral to ensuring the oral health of inmates and enhancing the overall operations of the dental office. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306.00 (before taxes). In some cases, the starting salary may be negotiable.
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience in a dental office or clinic; or
Successful completion of an accredited Dental Assisting certificate program; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
This position requires successful completion of the Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) Exam as required by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.
Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
