Job Description
Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team by ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental assisting procedures and the ability to work collaboratively with both patients and staff.
Duties
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols.
Maintain accurate medical records and patient information, including medical history and treatment plans.
Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment options.
Manage infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sterile environment in compliance with health regulations.
Utilize dental software systems such as Eaglesoft for scheduling, billing, and record management.
Support various dental specialties including general dentistry, endodontics, and other treatments as needed.
Perform administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, patient follow-ups, and inventory management.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental practice.
Familiarity with dental terminology, medical records management, and infection control practices.
Proficiency in using dental imaging equipment and techniques for X-ray procedures.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in patient records and treatment documentation.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, dentists, and other team members.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
Certification in Dental Assisting is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to pursue certification is encouraged.
