OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support during orthodontic procedures. This position requires a blend of technical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for working with patients of all ages, particularly children.
Duties

Assist the orthodontist during various procedures, including the placement and adjustment of braces and other orthodontic appliances.
Utilize 3D scanners to capture accurate impressions for treatment planning.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to infection control protocols.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling patient information and medical documentation.
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments according to established guidelines.
Document patient interactions and treatment plans using dental software systems such as Eaglesoft.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care, particularly in pediatric dentistry settings.
Support the orthodontic team in managing patient flow and scheduling appointments.

Requirements

Previous experience as a dental assistant or specifically in orthodontics is preferred.
Familiarity with infection control practices and dental assisting protocols.
Proficiency in using dental software systems, particularly Eaglesoft, is a plus.
Knowledge of endodontics and pediatric dentistry is advantageous.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, parents, and team members.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Must be committed to ongoing professional development and staying updated on industry best practices.
