Job Description

Our practice is growing yet again, and we re looking to add an experienced dental receptionist/patient care coordinator to our fast paced periodontal and dental implant practice! The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of dental office experience, and be proficient with Dentrix office systems as well as dental coding & insurance billing.
In this position you will be performing a wide variety of tasks including patient check in/out, appointment confirmation, maintaining patient records, scheduling, gathering information from referring practices, financial treatment planning & presentation, collecting payments, gathering insurance predeterminations and billing, as well as providing patient education related to their specific needs (for a more detailed list, see specific duties below).
Because we are a fast-paced practice with over 120 new patients/month, we are in need of someone that can multi-task and work well under pressure while keeping a smile on their face. Flexibility, willingness to learn, and attention to detail are a must. We pride ourselves in excellent customer service and clinical care; we would like to find an individual passionate about providing the same level of high-quality communication and care.

SPECIFIC DUTIES
Reception:
Manage day-to-day operations of dental office
Open and close dental office according to office protocol
Review the office for a neat, professional appearance
Check the daily schedule for accuracy
Answer and respond to telephone calls with professionalism
Patient Management:
Greet and welcome patients and visitors to the practice
Check in patients according to office protocol, verifying and updating patient information
Oversee patient relations & handle patient concerns
Confirm appointments according to protocol and patient preferences
Schedule patients for efficient use of doctor and staff time
Collect payment from patients at the time of treatment
Make follow-up appointments as needed
Prepare financial treatment plans and present plan options to patient at end of their appointment
Records Management:
Gather and accurately record insurance information from patients & referring offices
See that records are stored securely and handled in compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations
Accurately file patient information
Arrange patient charts and radiographs for the week’s appointments
Track cases and referrals to and from other doctors
Correspondence:
Sort, organize, and distribute mail/email
Insurance:
Update insurance information on all patients at all times
Submit treatment plans for predetermination of benefits
Prepare insurance claim forms
Submit online claims billing where appropriate
Accounts Receivable:
Enter patient financial activity in computer
Arrange payment schedule with patients
Interpersonal:
Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists, other staff members and community
Effective verbal skills to communicate with patients and staff
Team player
Able to adapt to office policy improvements (office is constantly striving for improved customer care/service)
Conflict resolution experience (customer service or patient relations experience)
Quick response/accurate data entry to present treatment plans to patients in a short time frame
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 42 per week
