Full Job DescriptionSmiles By The Lake is seeking a part-time, dental hygienist to help treat patients and promote good oral health practices! This position is part time working two days a week with the potential for additional days when needed. We are a busy practice and we pride ourselves in providing quality patient care in a relaxing environment. You should have a deep knowledge of relevant health and safety rules and a good eye for oral diseases and anomalies. If you have a positive attitude and are a team player we would like to meet you. The candidate we seek must be detail-oriented, efficient, and able to consistently deliver exceptional service to our patients. We are looking to fill this position starting in March of 2025.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure patients feel as comfortable as possible during their appointmentSterilize and maintain dental instruments properlyConduct initial oral screenings and check oral health historyExamine each patient's oral health and communicate findings to dentistsClean and remove stains, plaque, and tartar from teethApply fluoride and sealants for tooth protectionEducate patients of all ages on proper oral careGive instructions to patients after operations or other dental proceduresTake and organize digital dental x-raysAdminister local anesthetics to patientsDocument treatment plans and care performed on patientsMonitor supplies
RequirementsKnowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA, OSHA)Diploma in Dental HygieneValid license to practice dental hygiene in Kansas
