Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care while performing a variety of dental hygiene procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, patient management, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dental office environment. The Dental Hygienist will play a crucial role in educating patients about oral health and ensuring their comfort during visits.
Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling and polishing teeth.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
Assess patients' oral health and provide appropriate recommendations for treatment.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix or Eaglesoft software.
Assist in the management of the dental clinicââ¬â¢s daily operations, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
Collaborate with dentists and other staff to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.
Skills
Willingness to learn new skills including phlebotormy (training provided)
Proficient in dental assisting techniques and procedures.
Familiarity with Dentrix software for patient management a plus.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, particularly related to dentistry.
Excellent patient care skills, with an emphasis on comfort and education.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry is a plus.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Understanding of dental terminology to facilitate effective communication within the clinic.
