Job Description

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Dental Hygiene Assistant to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will assist the dental hygienist in delivering top-quality care to patients, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist the dental hygienist during procedures by preparing instruments, materials, and equipment.
Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments, and operatories following strict hygiene protocols.
Greet patients and prepare them for dental hygiene treatments.
Record and maintain accurate patient medical and dental histories as directed by the hygienist.
Take dental X-rays as needed.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after procedures.
Manage and restock hygiene-related supplies and materials.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming treatment environment.
Schedule and confirm hygiene appointments as needed.
Assist with charting and updating patient records in compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certification in dental assisting (preferably with coronal polishing and X-ray certification)
Current CPR certification.
Experience in a dental office setting is preferred.
Knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and procedures.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Work Environment:

Dental office setting with adherence to OSHA and infection control protocols.
Requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of light supplies.

Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour
