The Harmony Healthcare Long Island, formerly known as (Long Island Federally Qualified Health Center or LIFQHC) is a non-profit healthcare organization with 7 health centers, providing primary care and preventative medicine in the following locations in Nassau County: Roosevelt, Elmont, Hempstead, Freeport, Oceanside, and New Cassel/Westbury. In addition, the Harmony Healthcare Long Island has 3 school-based health centers, WIC offices (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children) in 3 locations, and a Health Home Care Coordination program. As federally qualified health centers, we serve the individuals in our communities, providing enhanced services, expanded hours and reduced prescription pricing, while raising the level of care. We treat patients regardless of income, residency or immigration status.

JOB TITLE: Dentist
REPORTS TO: Dental Operations Manager
The following statements reflect the general duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary to perform the essential functions of the job and should not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements of this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Diagnose and render high quality dental care;
Perform dental examinations, treatment, and complete dental care of patients;
Perform extractions, filling, prophylaxis, and prosthetics;
Participate in the performance or oral surgery;
Participate in LEAN and other activities necessary to implement the multi-disciplinary patient-centered medical home approach;
Interpret dental x-rays;
Maintain all dental records as prescribed by Dental Policy and Procedures Manual;
Conduct in-service training programs in oral health for the dental staff and for other Health Center staff, as needed;
Teach oral health education, including preventative care and nutrition to patients;
Assist in teaching dental staff specific dental procedures outlined in the Departmentââ¬â¢s Procedure Manual;
Assist in ordering, receiving and storage of dental supplies;
Community outreach and other duties as assigned;
Updates job knowledge by participating in continuing dental educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations;

QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree from accredited Dental School (DDS or DMD).
License to practice dentistry in New York State.
Must have at least 1 year experience and high competency in clinical dentistry.
Ability to travel to other sites for coverage as needed.
Commitment to and knowledge of community health care.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole preferred.
SALARY: $120,000-$140,000/ Annually
