Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include performing dental cleanings, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and assisting the dentist during procedures. Our office will officially open on May 1st, and the office name is currently "Posh Dental Lab." Due to this, please note that interviews will be conducted at a nearby café location for the safety and convenience of both the interviewer and interviewees.
Responsibilities:- Perform dental cleanings, including removing plaque and tartar from teeth- Take and develop dental x-rays- Conduct oral cancer screenings- Administer local anesthesia as directed by the dentist- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and maintaining a sterile environment- Document patient treatment plans, progress notes, and medical records accurately and efficiently- Utilize dental software systems (such as Epic, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft) to update patient information and schedule appointments
Qualifications:- Valid Dental Hygiene license in [STATE]- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program- Proficiency in using dental software systems (such as Epic, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft)- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry- Familiarity with taking vital signs and recording patient information accurately- Strong understanding of dental assisting techniques and infection control protocols- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written- Ability to work well within a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals- Knowledge of dental anatomy and experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
- Spanish bilingual preferred
