Duties

Perform comprehensive dental examinations and assessments for patients of all ages.
Execute a range of dental procedures, including but not limited to dental extractions, fillings, and preventive care.
Maintain accurate patient records using OpenDental software while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on oral health, hygiene practices, and treatment options tailored to their needs.
Implement infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
Collaborate with dental hygienists and assistants in a four-handed dentistry setting to enhance patient care efficiency.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in dentistry and participate in continuing education opportunities.

Skills

Proficiency in dental terminology and medical terminology is essential for effective communication with patients and staff.
Strong knowledge of infection control practices to ensure patient safety.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus for those interested in treating younger patients.
Ability to perform dental extractions competently and confidently.
Excellent patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards patients’ needs and concerns.
