Job Description

Job Summary: Examining, diagnosing, and providing dental treatment to the WSHS dental patients. Coordination of volunteer care/treatment planning.
FLSA: Full Time (32 hours), Exempt

Essential Functions:

Work in full coordination with other WSM staff at all times to identify, report and respond appropriately to any potential threats to the safety and wellbeing of guests.
Role Specific Responsibilities
Perform dentistry within the scope of a licensed dentist.
Perform exams and evaluating X-rays to determine a patient's health
Analyze treatment options and develop personalized treatment plan for each patient.
Fill cavities, perform root canals (if applicable), apply crowns, install bridges to fix broken and missing teeth, and measure and fit dental appliances.
Administer or prescribe medications to decrease pain and improve patient health.
Maintaining accurate patient records.
Oversee procedures to ensure compliance with various state, local, and federal regulations.
Assist in building and maintaining professional relationships within Lancaster dental community, including dental offices, specialist offices, schools, and dental labs.
Provide oral presentations and represent WSHS at WSM for guests and local dental events to promote volunteerism.
Keep the Senior VP apprised of critical issues.
Other duties pertaining to the essential functions to assure the smooth functioning of the dental clinic.
Supervision
Provide clinical direction/supervision to the dental clinical staff.
Clinical oversight of dental students and volunteer teams.
Assure treatment compliance by dental staff and volunteers of policies established by the WSHS.
Consultation and training for WSM staff with health-related issues on campus.
Education and Experience:
DDS or DMD degree from an Accredited Dental School.
Licensed to practice dentistry in Pennsylvania and meets all applicable Pennsylvania State requirements.
Maintain required continuing education credits as required by the state of Pennsylvania.
Share applicable information learned at seminars and meeting with team.
Maintain membership in American Dental Association.
Reports To: Senior Vice President, Health Services
