Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. As a Dental Assistant, you will support our dentists in various procedures, maintain patient comfort, and assist with administrative tasks as needed. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as excellent communication skills. We want a team player that goes out of their way to speak to patients in a friendly and informative manner and also works well with other team members. We want a candidate that is willing to learn and take instruction as well as contribute with their own knowledge.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a sterile environment.
Prepare and organize dental instruments and materials for various treatments.
Take medical imaging, including X-rays, to aid in diagnosis.
Document medical histories and maintain accurate patient records.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow within the office.
Support pediatric patients with a gentle approach to ease their anxiety.
Assist in endodontic procedures by preparing materials and instruments.
Utilize 3D scanning technology for precise dental imaging when required.
Skills
Proficient in dental imaging techniques and equipment.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology and procedures related to general dentistry.
Experience with four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency during treatments.
Familiarity with dental documentation practices for accurate record keeping.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles for working with younger patients.
Understanding of endodontics to assist in root canal treatments when necessary.
Experience with 3D scanners is a plus for advanced imaging capabilities.
Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Candidate must be fluent in English and Spanish.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
