Job Description
Overview:We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent oral healthcare to our patients. You will work closely with the dentist and other dental professionals to ensure the highest standard of patient care.
Responsibilities:- Assist doctor in new patient exams and evaluation as well as recall appointments; explain clinical findings and proposed treatment to patients.
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and polishing- Take and develop dental x-rays- Conduct oral cancer screenings- Administer local anesthesia as needed- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral care instructions.- Assist the dentist during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical records systems- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures- Collaborate with the dental team to create treatment plans for patient
Skills:- Experience with Dentrix or similar dental practice management software- Knowledge of dental coding and billing procedures- Familiarity with medical records systems for maintaining patient information- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment for capturing dental images- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively with other dental professionals
