Job Description
South Carolina Mobile Dental Centers, and its management company ExcelHealth Group, LLC, is seeking to fill an exciting and fulfilling traveling dental assistant position in Ohio. SCMDC is a dental company providing comprehensive dental care for residents of long-term care facilities. Our services are delivered via state-of-the-art mobile dental clinics which arrive onsite each day at a different nursing home.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow in both the dental and long-term care industries. Each clinic provides a small, inviting environment creating a safe space to deliver great care and on-the-job training experience.
Travel Frequency: Four (4) to five (5) days per week throughout the state.
Overnight Stays: This position frequently requires travel with overnight stays three (3) to four (4) nights per week.
Distance: Throughout the state
Travel Team: Includes a clinic manager, a dental assistant, and a patient transporter
Transportation: The clinic staff typically meets at a local designated launch/meeting location and travel together in a company vehicle as a team of three. The dentist generally arrives separately to the facilities.

This position requires an existing dental assistant certification CDA required and EFDA preferred).
Must have or obtain radiographer certification/license to assist with X-rays or ability to acquire within the first year of employment.
As needed, safely transport residents in wheelchairs and geriatric chairs to and from the nursing facility to the dental unit which is typically parked right outside of the building in the parking lot. This involves safely navigating an inclined ramp and declining when returning patients to their room.
Selecting and setting up instruments, equipment and material needed for the Dentist to properly treat patients.
Sterilizing instruments according to in-house policy and procedures and government or industry regulation.
Must pay attention to detail and maintain a well-organized and reliable treatment environment.
Possessing a desire to work with nursing home residents.
Demonstrating concern for the patientââ¬â¢s well-being and an understanding of cultural sensitivity.
Willingness and ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with facility staff and elderly patients.
Assisting with clinic maintenance, cleaning, and sterilizing procedures.
Entering treatment notes and patient data into proprietary software in a timely manner.
Punctuality and attentiveness to schedules and procedures.
Flexibility with schedule.
Reliable transportation to and from launch/meeting locations.
Pushing, lifting, reaching, stooping, and bending are part of this position.
Compensation:
Transportation, overnight hotel, and daily meal budget for travel directly tied to overnight stays are covered when traveling for company business.
Paid windshield/traveling time.
