Job Description

We are looking for assistants to join our School Based Sealant Dental Program for the 2024-2025 Chicago Public School year. Contracted with The Chicago Department of Public Health to provide prevented dental services to children in CPS. Preventative services include exam, prophy, sealants and fluoride varnish placement. Requirements are posted below and all discussed during interview. Compensation will be discussed during interview.
***Applicant should have certificate in Expanded Function, coronal polishing and sealant placement for ILLINOIS.
EFDA Qualifications and Job Descriptions:
Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) Responsibilities:

Team player at all times
Provide oral hygiene services including dental prophylaxis, sealant application and fluoride application consistent with accepted best practices and standards.
Dentists or hygienists will be responsible for scaling and removing supragingival calculus.
Provide oral health education and individual counseling to each patient according to known oral health care practices (e.g. tooth brushing, flossing)
Patient Charting on laptops.
Daily travel to and from Chicago public school sites
Working a school day schedule (about 6 – 7 hours); on average between 8:00 A.M. – 3:30 P.M.
Full time positions; during school calendar
