Suncoast Dental Center is a 3 doctor practice that has been privately owned since opening in 1982. We are looking for a motivated, hard working and enthusiastic dental receptionist to join our team and become a part of the Suncoast family.
We value our long term team members, we have assistants and hygienists that have been with us for over 20 years. We enjoy showing appreciation for our staff through monthly lunches, birthday celebrations and annual dinners.
We are open to applicants who are interested in a part time and full time hygienist position.
Job Description: Dental Hygienist
Summary: Performs treatment of patientââ¬â¢s oral and periodontal care including patient education by performing the following duties:
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
÷ Reviews patient charts, and health history at each visit.
÷ Provide treatment for adult and children which may include but not limited to exams x-rays, prophy, fluoride, and sealant.
÷ Provides periodontal treatments to include scaling and root planing, curettage, periodontal charting and polishing.
÷ Promotes exceptional dental care by providing periodontal health education through demonstration and appropriate literature.
÷ Document services rendered and other related information in patients charts at each appointment.
÷ Responsible for proper upkeep of operatory equipment at all times including but not limited to:
1. General cleaning
2. Sharpening and sterilizing instruments
3. Following OSHA guidelines for disinfection of the operatory between appointments
4. Cleaning and maintaining equipment related to daily functions (i.e. cavitron, prophy jet and any other equipment used by the hygiene department).
5. Cleans treatment areas at the end of each day to include flushing the evacuation system, emptying trash, and preparing treatment rooms for the following business day. Remains aware of supply/stock levels available in the office and communicate effectively with coworkers to place orders.
÷ Provides support to office personnel when primary responsibilities are completed and/or patient no show/cancellations occur including but not limited to:
1. Setting and confirming appointments and/or filling schedule
2. Filing or pulling patient charts
3. Provide office support to office manager when primary responsibilities are completed.
÷ Follows all company policies and procedures paying special attention to patient care and safety.
÷ Completes continuing education units and remains in good standing with the Florida Board of Dentistry with Licensure requirements.
÷ Follows Florida State Statutes for allowable duties as outlined in attached documents.
÷ Maintains HIPPAA and OSHA compliance as directed by Florida Law.
Certificates and Licenses:
Registered Dental Hygienists licensed by the State of Florida
*Administration License for Anesthesia (must complete required training to be able to perform this task).
