REGISTERED DENTAL ASSISTANT
Explanation of Program
The Kern County Children’s Dental Health Network which is a part of the Kern County Superintendent of Schools office is looking for qualified Registered Dental Assistants, willing to work as needed 4 to 15 hours per month. Kern County Children’s Dental Health Network provides free dental services to children, ages 0-5 years of age, throughout Kern County:
Example of Duties:

Assist RDHAP during a variety of preventative procedures
Assist RDHAP at school sites with setting up/break down of portable dental equipment
Assist and maintaining infection control protocol, along with preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
Help patients/children feel comfortable before, during and after treatment
Providing patients/children with instructions for oral care following dental treatment procedures, such as the fluoride treatment, prophylaxis and/or sealants
Providing dental education and teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health in a classroom setting; (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling)
Performing office tasks that often require the use of a computer (as needed)
