Job Description
Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to our patients while ensuring their comfort and satisfaction. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, patient assessment, and adherence to HIPAA regulations. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to deliver exceptional care and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical history and vital signs.
Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing procedures using appropriate techniques.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of preventive care.
Document patient treatment plans and progress notes accurately in the electronic health record system, including Eaglesoft.
Assist in four-handed dentistry by supporting the dentist during procedures.
Review documentation for accuracy and compliance with HIPAA standards.
Utilize knowledge of medical coding and dental terminology to ensure proper billing and insurance claims processing.
Maintain a sterile and organized work environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
Stay current with advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
Requirements
Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Strong knowledge of general dentistry practices and procedures.
Proficiency in documentation review, medical coding, and understanding of medical terminology.
Experience with Eaglesoft or similar dental software is preferred but not required.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient education.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for managing patient records efficiently.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $65.59 - $67.75 per hour
