If you have ever wanted to work one-on-one with children, we have a wonderful opportunity for Dental Assistants (DA) in our pediatric practice. New California Dental Board regulations now allow dental assistants the opportunity to do cleanings (Prophies) for patients without requiring an RDA license. Our office will pay for the three required courses needed to begin: CPR, Infection Control and Coronal Polishing. And we will train you on how to work with children and teens. Responsibilities
All aspects of chairside assisting
Prepare patients and their families for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
Ensuring infection control protocols are strictly observed
Sterilize instruments according to regulations
Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
Undertake lab tasks as instructed
Prophies and instructions for oral hygiene with children
Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
Patient set-up and clean-up
Basic office upkeep
As an DA in our practice, you are NOT required to process insurance forms or collect payments.
Skills
Proven experience as dental assistant
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
Understanding of health & safety regulations
Ability to perform regulated non-surgical dental tasks
Excellent communication and people skills
Attention to detail
Well-organized and reliable
Strong and supportive team player
We will pay for the necessary certification courses if needed.
This is a 5 day per week full-time opportunity with benefits after an introductory period. A part-time job share role may be an option for the right candidate. We are open occasional Saturdays and can provide additional work hours on a volunteer basis. Scrub uniforms are provided. CE units are completed as an office team.
