Job Description
Privately owned dental office in Dyer, Indiana is looking for a part-time hygienist to join our team. We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills who is committed to providing personalized patient care including periodontal therapy, preventative services and enhancing patients understanding of restorative and elective treatment.
Responsibilities:
Ensure patients are at ease before examinations
Properly sterilize dental instruments
Conduct initial mouth screenings and review oral health history
Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries, or periodontitis
Clean and protect patients' teeth (e.g., remove plaque or apply fluoride)
Educate patients on proper teeth care, demonstrating good brushing techniques
Provide post-operation instructions to patients
X-rays or dental impressions
Assist dentists in selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases, including oral cancer
Maintain documentation and charts for each patient
Monitor supplies
Skills:
Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist or similar role
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations (e.g., HIPAA)
Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
Outstanding communication skills
Patient and friendly personality
Attention to detail
Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
Diploma in Dental Hygiene
Valid license to practice
Minimum 2-Year in-office experience
Experience in Eaglesoft dental software a plus
Hours:
Up to 20 hours/week ââ¬â including 1 Saturday per month
Salary based on experience.
