Position Overview:We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Dental Hygienist to help our patients maintain optimal oral health. In this role, you will work closely with our dental team to provide preventive dental services, including cleanings, exams, and patient education. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, a friendly demeanor, and a passion for helping patients improve their oral health.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform dental cleanings (scaling and polishing) and periodontal treatments.
Take digital X-rays and assist with diagnostic procedures.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including periodontal charting, health history reviews, and oral cancer screenings.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, nutrition, and preventive care.
Apply fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventive agents as needed.
Work with the dentist to create and update individualized treatment plans.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using dental software.
Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment following proper infection control protocols.
Provide post-treatment care instructions to patients and follow up as necessary.
Stay current on the latest dental hygiene techniques and technologies.

Qualifications:

Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of Connecticut.
A degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and build rapport with patients.
Strong clinical and technical skills in all aspects of dental hygiene.
Knowledge of dental software and digital radiography.
Ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Compassionate and caring demeanor with a focus on patient comfort and care.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

Experience in a general dental practice preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
BLS/CPR certification.
Knowledge of infection control standards and sterilization procedures.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $48.00 - $58.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 per week
