Our team is looking for a fun, outgoing, detail oriented, and knowledgeable dental receptionist/assistant. We want someone who has experience with answering questions about dental treatment, and scheduling new patients. You need to know how to bill and talk about dental insurance and their specific coverage with patients. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
Responsibilities of the job include, but are not strictly limited to:
- Recognizing needs for the office and team members, and adapting in the moment to optimize patient experience
- Scheduling treatment and managing hygiene schedule
- Managing payments and working with patients at the front desk
- Patient and insurance communication over the phone
- Ensure that patients are comfortable in the dental chair
- Prepare patients and the work area for treatments and procedures
- Sterilize dental instruments
- Hand instruments to dentists during procedures
- Dry patients’ mouths using suction hoses and other equipment
- Instruct patients in proper oral hygiene
- Process x rays and complete lab tasks, under the direction of a dentist
- Keep records of dental treatments
- Schedule patient appointments
- Work with patients on billing and payment
In addition to being friendly, welcoming and hard-working, an ideal candidate should have excellent communication and customer service skills and be flexible, honest, and dependable. Candidates should also be organized and capable of multi-tasking.
Pay is dependent on level of experience and fit, and will be discussed at the interview.
General Dental experience is necessary for this position.
