Job Description
Overview:We are seeking a skilled, dedicated, and professional Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist during procedures and ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients. Responsibilities:- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are readily available- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments, operating suction devices, and providing other necessary support- Take and develop dental x-rays as instructed by the dentist- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring and trimming models, fabricating temporary crowns, and sterilizing instruments- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations- Ensure infection control protocols are followed, including proper sterilization of instruments and equipment- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow to optimize efficiency
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assistant program preferred- X-ray certification required- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic technique- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and medical documentation- Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Epic or similar platforms is a plus- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with patients of all ages- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
