Job Description
Job Summary: This position is primarily responsible for providing quality oral health care services to all patients, emphasizing the prevention and treatment of disease at Daily Planet Health Services. The treatment of health conditions include common, complex and/or advanced orally related diseases needing continued supervision of the prescribed treatment plan. This position also practices independently and interdependently by collaborating with management, physicians, dental specialists, assistants, hygienists, and other health care providers. Additional duties include collaboration with dental support staff and collaboration with the Dental Director for budgetary, capital expenditure, HRSA and other aspects of the Dental department. Under direction of Dental Director, assists dental care providers with tasks related to patient care under Ryan White Part B. Participates in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team.
Job Requirements: Doctor of Medical Dentistry (D.M.D. or Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) and license to practice dentistry in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. Must be certified by the DEA and the Virginia Board of Pharmacy to prescribe, dispense, and administer controlled substances to patients. Minimum of five (5) years of general dentistry experience required. Skills include excellent oral and written communications including telephone, organizational, and personal computer including word processing and Microsoft office. Must demonstrate a willingness to serve as a member of a team and exude excellent professional demeanor.
