Description
1. Coordinate the preparation of reports and written documentation as required by the department, company and State and Federal agencies and maintain proper, detailed and accurate dental records. 2. Travels between clinics to work, as needed. Willingness to be on-call, as scheduled, by the Dental Director/ Assistant Dental Director. 3. Willingness to assist Clinic Manager/Dental Manager in supervising the dental staff and assuring that clinic is compliant with State and Federal guidelines. 4. Meet productivity goals, as set by the Arkansas Childrenââ¬â¢s Hospital organization and assist the Clinic Manager and dental staff to accomplish that goal. 5. Maintain a professional demeanor with patients, staff and administration. 6. Supervise Dental Assistants with whom he/she works. 7. Understand the organizationââ¬â¢s commitment to provide high quality patient care. Promote a patient-centered environment. 8. Examine, diagnose and treat dental conditions to provide optimum care to patients and administer anesthetics to limit the amount of pain experienced by patient during procedure. 9. Consult with and educate the patient/parent/guardian and advise them of dental status and required treatment, oral conditions, provide treatment options and explain to the patient/parent/guardian the risks, benefits and alternatives of each option. 10. Provide infant oral health exams, which include risk assessment for mother and child, preventive dental care including cleaning and fluoride treatments, as well as nutrition and diet recommendations. Habit counseling (for example, pacifier use and thumb sucking). 11. Early assessment and treatment for straightening teeth and correcting an improper bite (orthodontics), repair of tooth cavities or defects and provide diagnosis of oral conditions associated with diseases such as diabetes, congenital heart defect, asthma, hay fever and attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). 12. Management of gum diseases and conditions including ulcers, short frenulae, mucoceles and pediatric periodontal disease and care for dental injuries (for example, fractured, displaced or knocked-out teeth). 13. Prepares, maintains charts and reporting, treatment plans and determines the most feasible plan for treatment. 14. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, receiving current literature, and attending in-service meetings and workshops. 15. Other duties as assigned.
