Last week, we discussed how to write your dental receptionist cover letter in six easy steps. If you didn't get a chance to read that post from last week, get over there and read it now.

Okay, you're back...but maybe you're still struggling; if you need more information, the Harvard Business Review offers a great piece on how to write a cover letter. I know it's a lot of reading, so if you don't want to hop over there and read the entire thing, here's an overview of their top cover letter tips:

  • Make your cover letter one page;
  • Read the about page to learn about the company you're applying for;
  • Check out the company's social media page, including LinkedIn and Twitter;
  • Address it to an actual person (don't use "to whom it may concern" or "dear hiring manager");
  • Grab their attention!;
  • Show enthusiasm while emphasizing your skills and value;
  • Your resume focuses on the past; your cover letter focuses on future;
  • Share your letter with someone else for an opinion (and look for typos);
  • Write your best cover letter, then adjust it for additional jobs you apply for.

Since I plugged the HBR, I'm just gonna go ahead and shamelessly plug my own content too. I wrote a piece a while back on the top 7 tips for writing your cover letter. I think they're pretty darn good tips, but if you've got a better one, don't keep it to yourself--share it with us here.

While that's a lot of information to absorb, we are going to go deeper this week, sharing cover letter templates and examples to make your job a whole lot easier. Okay, okay...not your job job, but you know...the job of writing your cover letter.

We'll make writing your cover letter easier with some templates and examples!

Sound good? Let's get started...!
