As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include performing dental cleanings, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and assisting the dentist during procedures. Responsibilities:- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and polishing- Take and develop dental x-rays- Conduct patient screenings and assessments- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment- Administer local anesthesia as directed by the dentist- Document patient treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information in electronic health records systems (Dentrix, Epic, Eaglesoft)- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized dental office- Stay up-to-date with advancements in dental technology and attend continuing education courses as required
Requirements:- Valid state dental hygiene license- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, oral health conditions, and treatment options- Proficiency in using dental software systems (Dentrix, Epic, Eaglesoft)- Familiarity with medical coding for dental procedures- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and interact with patients- Ability to take accurate vital signs and perform patient assessments- Knowledge of CAD/CAM technology for digital impressions is a plus- Commitment to maintaining strict infection control standards
