OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our private dental practice. Our practice is proud of his slow pace, patient centric philosophy. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental assisting practices.
Duties

Assist the dentist with various procedures, including examinations, cleanings, restorative and surgery.
Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
Follow aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
Take and record vital signs of patients as needed.
Manage patient records using dental software (Dentrix) for scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate medical histories.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Assist with medical coding for insurance purposes to ensure proper billing procedures are followed.
Support the team in maintaining a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.

Requirements

Proven experience in dental assisting is preferred, with knowledge of general dentistry practices.
Familiarity with restorative and surgical procedures.
Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
Ability to take vital signs accurately and respond appropriately to patient needs.
Proficiency in medical coding is advantageous for managing patient billing effectively.
Experience with Dentrix or similar dental management software is preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and team members.
A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
