Dental Assistant - American Dental Center - Culpeper, VA

Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The days will be Monday 9-5, Wednesday 11-7, Thursday 9-5 and 2 Sundays per month. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as experience with dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring smooth operations within the dental clinic.
Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during various procedures, including prosthodontics and endodontics.
Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays, to aid in patient diagnosis.
Record patient vital signs and maintain accurate patient records.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Manage appointment scheduling and patient follow-ups using dental software.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
Support pediatric patients by creating a comfortable atmosphere during their visits.

Requirements

Proficiency in dental terminology and knowledge of anatomy.
Experience with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is preferred.
Familiarity with various dental specialties, including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics.
Ability to perform medical imaging procedures safely and effectively.
Strong communication skills to interact with patients and team members effectively.
Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Certification or training in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory.
