Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care, focusing on patient assessment and education. You will work closely with the dental team to ensure a comfortable and effective experience for our patients, while adhering to all safety and health regulations.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including taking medical histories and vital signs.
Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing of teeth.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist in the management of infection control protocols within the practice.
Utilize Dentrix software for patient management and documentation.
Collaborate with dentists to provide comprehensive care in general dentistry.
Support the dental team with various assisting tasks as needed.
Skills
Proficient in patient assessment techniques and systems.
Knowledgeable in vital signs monitoring and interpretation.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical coding practices.
Strong understanding of infection control procedures.
Experience in managing medical records accurately and efficiently.
Background in general dentistry practices is preferred.
Proficient in using Dentrix or similar dental software systems.
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with team members.
