Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced dental clinic. The ideal candidate will have experience in four-handed dentistry and a strong understanding of infection control protocols. This role involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic.
Responsibilities- Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques.- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.- Take and record vital signs, medical history, and other relevant patient information.- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.- Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow to optimize clinic operations.- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean working environment.- Support pediatric dentistry procedures with appropriate techniques for young patients.
Requirements- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a dental clinic setting is preferred.- Knowledge of dental terminology and familiarity with medical documentation systems such as Epic is a plus.- Understanding of infection control practices and ability to implement them effectively.- Ability to take vital signs accurately and respond to patient needs compassionately.- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining patient records.- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and team members.- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is desirable but not mandatory.
