Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Austin, TX

QUALIFICATIONS:
-Customer service experience- RDA certificate or working toward obtaining RDA certificate
Responsibilities:1. Promote orthodontist and practice at all times. Display a pleasant and professionalappearance and personality.2. Monitor arrival of expected patients. Greet patients and/or parent in waiting area and escort to treatment area.3. Treat patients with genuine care and concern at all times. Do not leave unattended for any length of time.4. Review patient's status and perform any permissible treatment to prepare the patient prior to the arrival of the orthodontist.5. Perform high quality clinical procedures as licensure allows and as assigned by doctor including taking impressions, x-rays, placing bands, etc.6. Anticipate next steps and needs of the orthodontist for the procedure to be performed on the patient.7. Accurately complete all necessary and appropriate clinical charting of the patient's status, visit, hygiene and next visit.8. Complete procedure(s) and continuously monitor patient flow. Make adjustments with doctor approval to keep patient flow moving and the day running on schedule.9. Discuss any pertinent information with the patient and /or parent at the end of the visit regarding progress, hygiene, next visit, etc.10. Communicate instructions to patients clearly and effectively and provide demonstration when necessary.11. Re-stock, clean and sterilize treatment area after each visit in preparation for the next visit.12. Schedule or place a call to the patient after a difficult appointment.13. Update the patient's health history and patient information semi-annually, or as needed.14. Follow all OSHA guidelines as documented in the OSHA manual.15. Help maintain the supply levels and cleanliness of all areas of the office.16. Actively participate in marketing activities to continue promoting the health and growth ofthe practice.17. Be an active participant in daily huddles, staff meetings and retreats18. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications
