Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Office Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic by providing excellent patient care and administrative support. This position requires familiarity with dental terminology, infection control protocols, and various dental systems. The Dental Office Assistant will assist in both clinical and administrative tasks, contributing to a positive experience for patients of all ages.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes.
Schedule appointments and maintain an organized calendar for the dental team.
Assist with patient records management, ensuring accurate medical documentation.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring compliance with infection control standards.
Take and record vital signs as needed during patient visits.
Support dentists during procedures.
Operate dental equipment such as the taking of digital X-rays and Intraoral cameras and other systems relevant to patient care.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist in ordering when necessary.
Skills
Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is essential for effective communication within the clinic.
Familiarity with infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Experience with Practice Web or Open Dental or similar dental practice management software is preferred.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also managing individual responsibilities effectively.
Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records.
Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
Proficiency in taking vital signs and understanding basic clinical procedures related to dentistry.
