Duties:- Perform dental hygiene procedures such as cleaning teeth, removing plaque, and applying fluoride treatments- Take dental x-rays to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral care instructions- Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical history and addressing individual needs- Assist the dentist during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical coding and documentation- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient and effective patient care
Experience:- Possess a valid dental hygiene license in Alabama- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program- Knowledge of dental office systems and procedures- Familiarity with medical records management and HIPAA regulations- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and colleagues- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals
