Lead Dental Assistant - Dr. Virginia M. Melmed, DDS, PA - Port Charlotte, FL

Job Summary
We are a woman-owned, private dental practice seeking a motivated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our incredible dental team. Our ideal candidate will be outgoing, organized and possess a strong foundation in dental procedures and patient care, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience for our patients. This role requires proficiency in various aspects of dentistry, including but not limited to four-handed dentistry, implant, and general dentistry.
Duties

Welcome patients and ensure they feel comfortable and cared about during their appointment
Ensure patients are seated on time and proper patient flow
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays), CBCT, intra- and extra oral photos as needed.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care.
Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including medical history, treatment performed and treatment plans.
Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns.
Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when required.
Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Support the dentist in specialized areas such as endodontics, prosthodontics, implant surgeries and Invisalign as needed.

Experience
Candidates should have prior experience in a dental assisting role that includes:

Knowledge of anatomy related to dental health.
Familiarity with dental procedures across various specialties, including general dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
Experience with implant surgery and Invisalign is a plus.
Experience in Zoom whitening is a plus.
Proficiency in using dental software systems for record keeping and scheduling is preferred.
